I highly recommend NOT using this church for Weddings!!! The experience we had this past weekend was absolutely a nightmare. In order to rent this facility, the church requires you to use and pay their coordinator. Her name is Kathy Watson. Kathy was very rude right off the bat and constantly talked down to the wedding party and guests. She threatened to lock the doors of the church before the wedding and the guest would not be allowed in if a small balance was not paid immediately. The bride's mother was not even aware of the balance but the approach and abrasiveness of the coordinator was uncalled for. She also demanded to see the prayer in writing that the 83 year old grandfather of the bride was presenting even though it was in Hawaiian and also the lyrics to all the songs to be played during the ceremony. This was very insulting mostly because the way she demanded it and not requested it. Just before the ceremony began, she went up to one of the guests and said loudly, “Go sit down, the wedding is starting.” Once again, it’s not what she said but how she said it and the tone and body language she chooses to use. After the wedding Kathy Watson marched up to the bride and told her that since her photographer and guests used flash photography during the church during the ceremony which was against the contract, she was in violation of this contract and must leave her property immediately. They were not even allowed to finish taking pictures of the wedding party and family. She was yelling, "GET OUT OF MY CHURCH!" This behavior was unacceptable and embarrassing for the bride, groom, preacher that performed the ceremony and guests. The bride waited all her life for this special day and unfortunately the coordinator decided to ruin it. Several of the family and guests called and emailed the Pastor of the church, and he politically responded. His apology was not for her behavior or how she handled herself but only for the fact the situation occurred. He claims she is not on staff but in my opinion she does represent the church and ultimately should be held accountable. I also feel that the bride and groom deserve a written apology from both the pastor and the so called "Wedding Coordinator". Only after this disaster occurred did we hear from other couples that experienced the same issues with this Wedding Coordinator. I feel it our duty to share this information, hopefully preventing her from causing unnecessary drama on an already stressful but exciting day.

  • Faith Church is a PCUSA congregation of about 420 members, with community activities suggesting that it is much larger. Rev/Dr. Tom Lovell is Sr. Pastor. Frank Broyles is Minister of Church and Community, active in the local and international communities and helping the congregation put both funds and personal efforts to good use. Worship services are conducted Sunday mornings at 8:30 (interactive/informal in Fellowship Hall) and at 10:30 (traditional service). A variety of Sunday School classes meet at 9:30. Bible study groups meet for supper at 5:30 on Wednesday evenings and at other times.

Organizing members resolved to spend no more than half of their contributions on the church and its programs for members, with the other half to be spent on others; the percentage has been compromised considerably as the church expanded, but the ideal has survived. Similarly, members contributed money for four buildings (Sanctuary, Education building, Fellowship Hall, and gym) with resolve that the buildings would be made available to others in the community. This includes use of the Sanctuary for weddings and other services for non-members; but non-member families who can afford it are asked to share maintenance costs and to follow practices consistent with Christian (not necessarily Presbyterian) sacraments and free of strobe lights and "Hollywood" hoopla. Specifics are described by a contract signed at the time the facility is booked, and only favorable reports are heard from those who take seriously these agreements.

Faith Church invites those of all backgrounds to Come and See!

  • Great preschool. All of the teachers are amazing and genuinely love what they do. The location is great and the flexibility of enrollment options are great. I especially love the option of having such a flexible nursery for days when I needed to leave the baby.

  • I am the son of the "RUDE Wedding Coordinator" and the sound guy for the weddings. I would Like to clear somethings up that have been exaggerated or are just out-right lies. First and foremost the mother of the bride should have been made aware of the due balance by the bride, not the wedding coordinator. It was church policy that all dues were to be paid the night before the wedding. The "small balance" in question was our pay. I told my mother I would not do the sound for the wedding unless I was paid, so this was my fault not hers. My mother would NEVER talk rudely to a wedding guests. My mother approached the photographer after the wedding, and told her that she was not allowed to use flash for the wedding party photos or family photos. It was at this point that the Mother of the Bride approached my mother and started yelling at her, it ended with her calling my mother a Bit*h. This is when I stepped into the conversation. I approached the Mother of the Bride and told her point blank "that no one calls my mother a BIT*H". Me as a Deacon of the church decided that this was not appropriate behavior for a house of God. I, not my mother, was the one that told everyone to leave the church. This wedding party was the worst I had ever seen. I have been doing the sound for Faith Presbyterian Church for almost 10 years and this is the FIRST and LAST time a wedding party has been asked to leave. Now, a year later I still stand by my decision, and hope nothing like this will happen to future wedding parties.

  • I've been to this church many times and have to wonder about this wedding coordinator thing and maybe they have the wrong church? First of all who is Kathy Watson? I've done a pretty extensive search in Huntsville and can't find any mention of her as a coordinator, so I'd like to know which other couples had problems. Secondly, who doesn't talk with their coordinator beforehand? It just seems suspect to me and since I can't find any mention of a wedding at this location on August 28th or 29th 2010, I think the "RUDE Wedding Coordinator" reviewer may be confused.
